Lawrence Rosenfeld, Ph.D.

Dr. Lawrence B. Rosenfeld is Professor of Communication Studies at the
University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He is the author or co-author
of 17 books on small group, interpersonal, and nonverbal communication, and
2 on conducting research in communication. His most recent book is on
disaster relief, When Their World Falls Apart: Helping Families and
Children Manage the Effects of Disasters (NASW Press, 2005). He is also the
author or co-author of over 80 articles and chapters in the fields of
communication, education, social work, sports psychology, and psychology.
He is the 1995 recipient of the University of North Carolina's Johnston
Award for Teaching Excellence. From 1979-1981, he served as Editor for
Western Journal of Speech Communication, and from 1991-1993, he served as
Editor for Communication Education. His primary research areas focus on the
effects of disasters on children and families, the role of social support
in education, and marital and family communication.
