   Joelle Powers, Ph.D.

Joelle Powers received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, California, and her Master of Social Work degree from San Diego State University. She has previously worked at San Diego Children's Hospital as a Developmental Specialist in the Autism Intervention Center and in the Vista Unified School District as an Elementary School Counselor. Ms. Powers participated in international volunteer work in Europe, Africa, and Asia. She completed the Social Work Doctoral Program at UNC-CH in the Summer of 2005. Her primary research interests include school social work and evidence-based practice.
